In 1980 she was united in marriage to Francis P. "Frank" Gomen. They made their home in Fort Wayne and Colorado. Mr. Gomen died in 1985. In 1989 she returned to Fort Wayne.

Her employment included General Electric, Alcoils, Viking and Strouse's Mens Wear.

She was a member of American Legion Post #98.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Carol Mott of Fort Wayne and Nancy (Ronn) Hanman of Jackson, Michigan; four step children, Margie (Jim) Daniels of Churubusco, Frank (Sandy) Gomen of Fort Wayne, Joseph (Kathy) Gomen of Houston, Texas and Christine Gomen of San Diego, California; four grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ross Engle, Dalton Engle and David Engle and a sister, Iris Watson.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Rev. J. Phillip Blake officiating. The burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to Humane Society of Whitley County or donor's favorite charity.">
