of Loveland [Colorado] passed away on January 9, 2016. Bob was born on September 11, 1925 in Columbia City, IN to M. Merle and Louise (Erdmann) Fisher.

He attended Columbia City High School where he won 1st place at State in his drumming trio. He also attended Purdue University and the University of Michigan. Bob was in the NROTC at the University of Michigan. Bob volunteered to command landing craft for invasion of home islands of Japan, which was seen as a suicide mission. He attained the rank of Lt. J.G. Bob was the deck officer on the USS St. George - AVP16 and served as part of the occupation forces. He earned a Victory World War II medal, American Theater medal, and an Asiatic Pacific medal.

Bob owned his own store, worked as a bookkeeper of the University of Colorado bookstore and was an internal auditor for the Regents at University of Colorado. Bob married Eileene Joane Gephard in 1953 and Shirlee Etha Smoot on June 5, 1985. Bob was a Deacon at First United Presbyterian Church and was instrumental in having it declared a landmark.

He enjoyed sailing, skiing, hiking and camping. Bob also liked writing, boat building and travel.

Bob is survived by his wife, Shirlee; sons John Fisher of N. Augusta, SC and Tom Fisher of Jamestown, CO; step-son John (Wanda) Becker of Sheridan, WY and step-daughter Kim Morford; grandchildren Kayla Mix and Zack and Austin Becker. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim and sister Dorothy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at First United Presbyterian Church on 4th Street in Loveland. Inurnment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Boulder, CO.
