Notes:	Betty J. (Souder) Shoemaker, 88, of Baltimore, Md. passed away, Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Bradley Bay Health Center, Bay Village, Ohio. Shoemaker was born May 17, 1922 in Columbia City and had lived in the Baltimore area for 60 years. She worked for over 40 years at Hillendale Country Club, Phoenix, Md. as the bookkeeper and office manager. She played pinochle with the same card club made up of her dearest friends for 50 years. Ms. Shoemaker also enjoyed travel, including trips to Australia, England, Hawaii, Canada and throughout the United States. Shoemaker is survived by sons, Wayne Lavier Shoemaker of Atlanta and William Lee Shoemaker of Cleveland. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Kimberly, Michael and Alexander; and two great-grandchildren, Calvin and Temperance. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Nora (Hartman) Souder and brother, Donald (Marjorie) Souder. Private services will be held in Columbia City.
