Notes:	Fern attended El Monte High School in California for her Sophomore & Junior years, returning to Columbia City, Indiana to graduate in 1943 and marry two months later. While her husband was in WWII, Fern lived with her parents and family in southern California, mostly the cities of El Monte and West Covina. After her freshman year in CCHS, her parents & sister Barb moved to California, where nearly all her other brothers & sisters lived. Only her older brothers Wilbur (single sibling of the eight to remained in original family home town of Jacksonville, Illinois) and Art (Charlotte, Michigan) did not move to California. After Fern's graduation, her parents moved directly to Fort Worth, Texas. Fern & Edson married July 24, 1943 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. While he was in the service she worked in the office of shipyards at Wilmington, California as a cost analyst. In 1952 Edson managed a 3,000 acre ranch in Long Lake, Wisconsin, in northern Wisconsin. Fern loved baseball & football and passionately supported local teams wherever she lived. Last lived in Seattle, Washington. Two sons, Ronald D. & Steven Schuman. At time of her death at age 91, Steven was living in Tacoma, Washington.
