Notes:	Ferrol Irene Yates, age 90 of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Oregon Living and Rehab Center, Oregon, IL, surrounded by her family. Ferrol was born on June 18, 1926 in Tuscola, IL, Forrest and Irene (Riley) Seward. She married Everett L. Yates on April 19, 1947 in Mount Carroll, IL. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2002. Ferrol enjoyed reading, sewing, baking and planting flowers in her garden. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda I. (Tom) Shumway of Polo; her son, E. Wayne (Janie) Yates of Rock Falls; one sister, Ileene "Ruth" Seward of Henderson, NV; one sister-in-law, Ruth Seward of Waupaca, WI; eight grandchildren, Charles Edward Gasso, Jr, Tanya Ylaya, Heather Stopka, Tommy Shumway, Tammy Kendall, Josh Yates, John Robbins and Tammy Lynn Heeren; twenty three great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Lynn and Nelson Seward and one great grandson. Visitation will be Monday, May 1, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. to Noon at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, 1002 12th Avenue. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Notes from 3-29-17: My father farmed large acreages for owners, and I lived in 12 schools before graduating. Eventually he saved enough to buy his own farm in Wisconsin, where he spent the rest of his day. I've been in a nursing home for the past two years but can be contacted via my daughter Wanda Shumway, Polo, IL 61064. My 90th birthday last June was a five generation family celebration: Me, great-great grandmother; Wayne Yates, great-grandfather; Tammy Kendall, grandmother; Justine Kyger, mother; and Kendrick Kendall, son.
