Marianne Clark, age 79, of Columbia City, Ind. passed away at 9:25 am on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City, IN. Born on August 30, 1931 in Whitley County, Ind. she was the daughter of Fred A. and Coral R. (Bills) Nei.

She was a lifetime resident of Whitley County, graduating from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1949. She worked at the Columbia City Truck Stop as a waitress and cashier since 1970 and in 1996 worked in the office. She also worked part time at H & R Block since 1983. She was able to retire from both jobs in 2004. She was an active member of the Whitley County Senior Center and also belonged to the Old Bats in Red Hats group.

Survivors include her daughters, Susie (Brent) Stonert of Fort Wayne, IN; Lynda (Alvin Powell) Gilbert of Campbellsville, KY; Pam (Stan Potter) Crain of Morristown, TN; sons, Jim (Cindy) Crain of Sevierville, TN, and Mark (Lynnel) Clark of Columbia City; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald, Thomas, and Phil Nei.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at Demoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, Ind. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Nancy Fergusson of Green Center United Methodist Church, Albion, Ind. officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be given in Mrs. Clark's memory to the American Heart Association or the Whitley County Senior Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
