Born in Albany, New York to Volney Judson & Theresa (Clissold) Tuttle. Sister Janet Camilla Tuttle born December 10, 1933 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Father was a Lakota Sioux and mother from England.

Graduated Purdue 1957 Forestry School & University of New Mexico with degree in agriculture. Lived in Lander, Wyoming; died in a traffic accident in Flathead, Montana. Known as world class painter of elk & buffalo hides & was a traditional Native American dancer. Wife Leona died in 1999. No obituary located for either of them.
