Notes:	Obituary of husband: Richard D. “Dick” Mitten, 86 of Huntington passed away at 12:10 am on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at The Heritage of Huntington. Dick served in the Merchant Marines and later in the U.S. Navy Air Force during WWII on the USS Philippines Sea and USS Valley Forge. He worked for 39 years as a pipe fitter for the Indiana Gas Company, retiring in 1990 as a foreman. After his retirement Dick worked part-time at Myers Funeral Home for 12 years. He was a member of the St. Peter’s First Community Church. He was born on June 2, 1928 in Huntington, the son of Edward Nevells and Pauline Mitten. He was united in marriage to Hilda Wolfe on August 10, 1951 in Columbia City. His wife survives. Additional survivors include two sons: DeVon L. Mitten of Huntington; Danny W. Mitten of Huntington; a daughter: Kathryn A. Brey of Pierceton, IN; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Joshua Merryman and a granddaughter: Anaiah Mitten. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 10:00am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Raymond Scribner officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorials can be made out to Huntington County Senior Center in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750.
