Notes:	Duane Lester "Brownie" Brown, age 69, of Columbia City, IN died at 7:58 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2007 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. He was born in Fairbury, Livingston County, IL on March 3, 1938 to Lester Edward and Ruth Bernice (Harvey) Brown. He graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1956. On July 21, 1973 he was united in marriage to Linda Lou Mast in Auburn, IN. He served 20 years with the United States Army National Guard retiring in 1998. With 30 years of service from General Electric, Fort Wayne, IN, he retired March 16, 1998. He also was a former employee of Al Flenneary Landscaping of Fort Wayne, IN, Fred Smith-Sawmill Lumber of Willshire, OH, Wilkinson PTG. Co. of Van Wert, OH, Dana Corporation, Truck Engineering Co., and Royal Lace Std., Pkg. Co. all of Fort Wayne. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Linda L. Brown of Columbia City; sons, Chris Alan Mast of Tampa, FL and Mitch Duane Brown of Columbia City; daughter, Tiffany Renee (Shawn) Friend of Columbia City; an unborn grandson, Ganon Duane Friend, due in July; brothers, Ronald Alan Brown of South Whitley, IN, Danny Lee (Sue Ann) Brown of Auburn, IN, and David Lynn (Virginia) Brown of Butler, IN; sisters, Alyce (David) Ruth Brown-Ugucconi of Brooklyn, MI and Diane Ruth (Abdellah) Sarhane of Springhill, TN; brother-in-law, Steven Jack (Barbara) Archbold of Springfield, OH; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin brothers, Dale Raymond and Dean Richard Brown Visitation is 5-8 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2007 and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the funeral home with Father Larry Kramer of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, Columbia City, officiating. Whitley County Korean War Veterans will present graveside military honors with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorial bequests may be given in memory of Mr. Brown to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
