DAVID SCOTT KEISER, 61, a resident of Old Lake, died at 9:35 pm Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at his home.

He was born on February 5, 1945 in Richmond, Indiana a son of Lawrence G. Marjorie L. Siders Keiser. His formative years were spent in Whitley County where he was educated in the Thorncreek Township School and graduated from the Columbia City High School in 1963.

Mr. Keiser was as tool and die maker and had been employed by the C & A Tool Company in Churubusco for ten years and presently by the Dial-X Corporation in Merriam.

On September 26, 1970, he was united in marriage to Mary E. Hunt and they have made their home at Old Lake for the past twenty years.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968.

Mr. Keiser, an avid sprint car enthusiast and owned and drove race cars on many of the tracks in Northeast Indiana and he was also a member of the Barn Stormers, remote controlled airplane club.

The surviving relatives include his wife, Mary, a son Todd A. Keiser and a daughter, Amanda Davidson both of Columbia City; three grandchildren, Lindsay, Brandon and Scott Davidson; a sister, Nancy (Ken) Gick of South Carolina and a brother, Rick Keiser in Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Keiser and his mother, Marjorie Longanecker.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday in the Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Chaplain Ken Warner, officiating. The burial will be in the Keister Cemetery in Etna-Troy Township. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Parkview Home Health and Hospice.
