Born on November 17, 1945, in Whitley County, Indiana, she was a twin child of the late Kenneth R. and F. Eileen (Minnick) Easterday. She completed grade school at Coesse and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1964.

On July 3, 1966, she married Roger E. Kinney. They made their first home in Etna-Troy Twp. In 1973, they moved to their present home in rural South Whitley. Roger tragically lost his life in an accident while mowing grass on their property on September 3, 2002.

Mary began working at Key Pharmacy after High School and worked seasonally at Stump’s Printing in South Whitley. She then worked for William’s SuperValu, Columbia City, and Mutual Security Life Insurance. She finished her work career with Farmer’s Loan and Trust Company retiring 1990 with 13 years of service.

At home she enjoyed quilting and knitting. In the warmer months, she liked to garden and maintain her property, often going barefoot. She enjoyed being with family and the grandkids.
