Richard Lee Blaugh, 29, of 726 East Mountain View, Phoenix, Arizona, a former local resident, died of injuries received in a car-motorcycle accident early Sunday morning in Glendale, Arizona.

The accident occurred at 12:03 a.m. Sunday on Glendale Street when an automobile turned left in front of the motorcycle he was riding. He was taken to the Maryvale Samaritan Hospital where he died 45 minutes after the accident.

He was born on December 8, 1946 a son of Ivan D. & Mary A. (Smith) Blaugh at Fort Wayne. His formative years were spent on a farm in Washington Township and he graduated from Washington Center Grade School and the Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1965. After completing his education, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Two years ago, he moved to Arizona where he was attending a motorcycle repair school and was to have graduated this month.

The surviving relatives include a daughter, Wendy Blaugh, age 3, Fort Wayne, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan D. Blaugh, R2, three brothers, Dennis Blaugh, Miami Village, Gail Blaugh, R1, Doug Blaugh at home, a sister, Mrs. Eddie (Barbara) Thompson, Miami Village, and his grandmothers, Mrs. Lois Blaugh, a resident at Miller's Merry Manor and Mrs. Lloyd Kile, R6.

The body is at Smith and Sons Funeral Home where the family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Graham L. Kleespie officiating. The committal services and burial will follow the funeral home rites in the South Park Cemetery, Columbia Township.
