Notes:

Jaralee Davison, 70, of rural Columbia City, died peacefully at her home at 8:41 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.

Born September 30, 1950, at Luckey Hospital, Wolf Lake, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Helen (Gipe) Hazen. Growing up in Whitley County, she graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1968.

On March 28, 1970, she married Kent E. Davison. They made their home in Columbia City. In 2002, they moved to Sturgis, Michigan, where they built their dream home and owned and operated Lone Eagle Landing restaurant.

She began her work career with the Indiana Dept of Transportation (INDOT) in Fort Wayne. Later, she worked for Estlick-Girvin & Lefever, Columbia City, and Diller & Associates, Fort Wayne.

After selling their restaurant in Sturgis, they moved to Naples, FL, where they owned and operated AAA Powder Coat. Returning to the area in 2011, the couple moved to the family farm home in rural Columbia City.

A talented and accomplished cook, she shared her talents with her son Weston who is now a chef. Hosting the annual family reunion at her home, she enjoyed being with family, especially the grandchildren. Serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus, she was a faithful member of the Columbia City United Methodist Church Praise Team and Choir. She planned and carried out benefits for her favorite charity, Destiny Rescue. At home, she liked gardening and growing beautiful flowers.

Remaining active and fit throughout her life, she worked out at the gym and danced whenever possible. For their fiftieth wedding anniversary, the couple traveled to Italy, fulfilling a life-long dream.

Surviving is her loving husband of 51 years, Kent; two sons, Weston B. Davison of North Webster and Joshua (Abbe) Davison of Columbia City; grandchildren, Skylar Davison and Jaxon Davison; and a sister, Jody (Howard) Lowen of Columbia City.

The funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial is at the St. Matthew Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Destiny Rescue.

This service will be live streamed on Smith's Facebook page.
