Notes:	Buddie Eugene Sheets, 68, of Loon Lake, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his home. He was born July 22, 1949 at Luckey Hospital, Wolf Lake son of the late Eldon E. and Betty A. (Herron) Sheets. His formative years were spent in Thorncreek Township, Whitley County. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1968. On June 4, 1968, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam. In April of 1970, he was released from active duty. After fulfillment of his reserve duty, he received an honorable discharge April 28, 1974. He spent his work career as an ASE – certified truck mechanic. He started with TMX in Fort Wayne and later moved to Kenworth – Fort Wayne. He then worked at PAC lease and most recently at Tri-Lakes Tavern. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler bowling in several leagues at the Main Bowl, Columbia City and Pro Bowl, Fort Wayne. He was a member of VFW 5582, Columbia City and a former member of American Legion Post 98, Columbia City. He is survived by 5 siblings, Gloria M. (David) Didion, of Garrett, Dewey D. (DeAnna) Sheets, John G. (Karen) Sheets, both of Columbia City, Harold (Blanche) Sheets, of Fort Wayne and Jerry L. (Ann) Sheets of Columbia City. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Interment will be in the St. Matthews Cemetery with the Korean War Veterans presenting honors. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the service Monday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to final expenses c/o Smith and Sons
