Dennis Dewitt Blaugh, 61, of Loon Lake, died at 11:18 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Physicians Regional Hospital in Naples, Florida.

He was born January 14, 1951 in Fort Wayne, Indiana a son of Ivan and Mary A. (Smith) Blaugh. His formative years were spent in rural Columbia City. Dennis graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1969.

On November 23, 1985 he married Marsha Stier. They made their home in Columbia City and Naples, Florida. He was employed at C&R Plating DBA KC Jones as CEO, making plans for his retirement in early June 2012 with 43 years of services.

Dennis will be remembered as "a friend to all, a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather." He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Eagles Lodge #1906 and Secretary of Coon Club in Columbia City.

Survivors include his wife, Marsha; a daughter, Missy (Doug) Sands; grandchildren, Jordan, Liam and Rhiannon Sands, all of Columbia City; a step son, Jeffrey (Carla) Stier of Fort Wayne; step grandchildren, Brittany and Alison Godfrey of Ohio; his mother and three siblings, Mary Blaugh, Gail (Bonnie) Blaugh, Barbara (Edward) Thompson and Doug (Sindy) Blaugh, all of Columbia City.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Richard Lee Blaugh.

Arrangements are pending at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.

Preferred memorials are to American Diabetes Association or Allen County Animal Care & Control.
