Michael A. Parker, 65, of Columbia City, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 at his home. Born Dec. 13, 1952 in Columbia City, he was the son of Clarence "Ed" Parker and Norma F. Parker Curless.

He graduated Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1971. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked for Isolatek International, Huntington for 24 years, retiring this past August. He also had served on the Jefferson Township Fire Department.

On Aug. 5, 1994, he married Jeannie (Pequignot) Smith in Tennessee. Mike enjoyed camping, golfing, target shooting and loading bullets. He found relaxation in being at home and taking golf cart rides on trails and out in the woods.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Parker; daughter, Rhea Elizabeth Schutt, of Kentucky; step-daughter, Trina (Todd Kline) McConnell, of Columbia City; stepdaughter-in-Law, Jainele Smith, of Columbia City; brothers, Gary (Becky) Parker and Scott (Linda) Parker, both of Columbia City; grandchildren, Alicia Smith, Emma Smith, Tyler Harrison and Blake Schutt; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Parker; mother, Norma (Robert) Curless; stepson, Curtis Smith; and brother, Douglas Parker.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus will be officiating. Burial will follow at Broxton Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be given in his memory to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
