Notes:	Ronald A. Metzger, 64, of Remington, Ind., formerly of Sidell, Ill., passed away at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018 at home. He was born in Whitley County, Ind., to Marvin and Dolores Rondeau Metzger. Ron married Kathleen DeBolt June 15, 1974 in Columbia City. Ron was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed fixing things. The family lived for a time in Columbia City, Wolf Lake, Charlotte, Mich., as well as Sidell, Ill., and later Remington. Ron served on the Jamaica School Board from 1997 to 2013, as well as being President of the Board. He was a member of East Tipp Baptist Church in Lafayette. Ron really enjoyed and loved his grandchildren Ashley and Austin, and watching their sporting events as well as spending time with his family and church family. His wife, Kathy survives as well as his father and step-mother, Marvin and Myrna Metzger; a daughter, Shelly (David) Dunk, of West Lafayette; and two grandchildren, Austin Dunk and Ashley Dunk. Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Metzger; a son, Tadd; and a brother, Mike. A funeral service is at 10 a.m. CST Tuesday at Catlin Church Christ, 715 W. Vermilion St., Catlin, Ill. Rev. Mike Roberts and Pastor Joel Flowers will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, south of Sidell, Ill. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Catlin Church of Christ. Robison Chapel in Catlin is handling service details. Memorials may be made to East Tipp Baptist Church or Fairmount Baptist Church. Online condolences can be sent at www.robisonchapel.com.
