Notes:	Randall "Randy" John Jones, of Columbia City died at 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at his residence. Randy's family includes his daughters, Felicia Jones and Rachele Jones, both of Columbia City; brother, Shawn (Lacey) Jones of Columbia City; sisters, Marsha (Randy) Jones-Vanderpool, Cheryl Wireman, and Tonya Jones, all of Columbia City. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore "Ted" and Kay Jones. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with a vigil at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. February 18, 2016, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorial contributions in memory of Randy may be made to the family. Although Randall Jones will be deeply missed, he made a significant impact in the lives of everyone he met in the time he was given. He was an honorable businessman who was known for his integrity and hard work. Nothing compared to Randy's greatest role, however, which was being a father to the two daughters he treasured more than life itself. A longtime resident of the community he loved, and he was the sort of man whom everyone seemed to know. With a life that spanned times of great change in the world around him, he lived a life of purpose filled with his passions. Deeply loved, Randy leaves behind a priceless collection of memories that his loved ones will forever cherish. The 1950s were an exciting time in American history. With televisions that were becoming part of our homes like never before, shows like I Love Lucy shed new light on how we viewed the American family. Elvis Presley introduced the world to rock 'n roll, and by the end of the decade we had welcomed Alaska and Hawaii as our 49th and 50th states. Amidst this exciting time was the year 1959, which was an exciting time in the lives of Theodore and Kay (Hopping) Jones for a much different reason as they were eagerly anticipating the birth of their new baby as spring unfolded in the city of New Castle, Indiana. The big day finally arrived on April 23rd when the baby boy they named Randall John drew his first breath. From the moment he arrived, Randall, or Randy as he was often known, was a bustle of activity. He was a young boy of his generation who had a special place in his heart for animals. In fact, he was such an animal lover that Randy often brought home stray animals that he found here and there. As a student at local schools, he attended Columbia City High School. Eager to take on the world, Randy graduated in 1977. With his education behind him, Randy was poised for greatness. He was the sort of person who didn't shy away from a challenge, and he was known for giving everything his all. Randy was the sort of person who put logic ahead of emotion, which is part of what made him such a great businessman. For 20 years he was the owner and operator of Adhesive Solutions, LLC. Although humble, Randy was proud of his accomplishments, and one of his favorite lines was, "I'm a professional business owner." Work was certainly an important part of Randy's life, but nothing was of greater significance in his life than being a father. He was blessed with two amazing daughters, Felicia and Rachele, and they were the light of his life. Randy was a great teacher who didn't let a teachable moment pass him by when it came to his daughters. It has been said that his teachable moments were rather lengthy and seemed to go on and on. In his time away from work, Randy was one to keep busy. He enjoyed camping trips to Brookville, fishing, and sitting around the campfire, and as he got older his love for animals grew to include exotic animals. A talented musician, Randy enjoyed playing rock 'n roll on his guitar, and as a sports fan he was an avid supporter of both Notre Dame and the Indianapolis Colts. In addition, he liked watching Alaskan Bush People. With unending devotion to his family and friends, Randall Jones was truly one of a kind. He was never one to worry about the little things, rather, his focus was on making the most of the opportunities he was given. Randy was full of fun sayings such as, "You don't know what you're missing," and he had a fun-loving spirit that made him so much fun to be around. Randy will never be forgotten.
