Curtis Eugene Parrett, age 31, of Columbia City, IN passed away on Sunday February 7, 2016 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital, Bloomington, IN. Born on January 2, 1985 in Columbia City, he was the son of Neil and Debbie(Utter) Parrett.

Curtis was a lifetime Whitley County resident and attended local schools, graduating from Columbia City High School with the Class of 2003. Curtis most recently worked for CRI Construction as a skilled laborer, and had previously worked for Micropulse, Inc. as a CNC machinist.

Curtis enjoyed motorcycle riding, drag racing his Mustang, golfing at Magic Hills, and most of all spending time with his daughter, where he reveled in trips to the local parks and the zoo. Curtis was noted to be the best nail painter in the world, in addition to doing hair.

Survivors include his daughter Caydence Parrett; former sweetheart Chelsie Byer; mother Debbie (Jeremiah Wittwer) Parrett, all of Columbia City; father Neil (Julie) Parrett of Fort Wayne; paternal grandfather Robert Glenn Parrett Sr. of Albion; maternal grandmother Teresa Utter; maternal grandfather, Carl Utter of Mo.; maternal great-grandmother Pat Hartman, both of Columbia City; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Clara Bell Parrett-Wineland and maternal great-grandfather Ralph Lee Hartman.

Friends may call on Sunday February 14, 2016 from 1-7pm at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services for Curtis will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday February 15, 2016 at the funeral home.
