Notes:

Guy "Bud" Albert Weeks, 77, of rural Columbia City, died at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Parkview Whitley where he was admitted on June 30th.

He was born on December 14, 1940 in Whitley County, Indiana a son of the late Paul and Mildred (Gawthrop) Weeks. His formative years were spent in Columbia City where he attended Columbia City High School.

On July 19, 1959 he was united in marriage to Patricia Lou Cole. They have always made their home in rural Columbia City.

For 25 years, he was a truck driver for the Whitley County Highway Department.

He had a fondness for 1957 Chevrolets. Although he had sold his years ago, he sought them out at area car shows. He was an avid collector of baseball hats, with over 300, and he loved penguins.

The family was his priority and he loved to take them on “Sunday drives” through the countryside even if it was not Sunday. As he watched his children and grandchildren depart for their homes, he would always say "see you later" or sometimes with just "later."

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia; a daughter, Becky S. Clark, Columbia City and a son, Daniel G.(Sue) Weeks, Albion; grandchildren, Jamie L. (Miguel) Alvarez, Etna Green, Holly M. Timms, and David E. (Jaime) Clark, both of Columbia City; 9 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Phil Weeks, Ridgecrest, CA.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rodney and Lowell Weeks, and a son-in-law, David Clark.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in the South Park Annex Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 noon until the service Friday at the funeral home.
