William E. Niedermeyer, 77, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 at Miller's Merry Manor with family by his side. Born July 22, 1944 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Christ and Phyllis (Judge) Niedermeyer.

Bill attended Coesse and Columbia City Joint High School. On February 14, 1961, Valentine's Day, he proposed to Patricia Garrison and the two were married on May 20, 1961 at Grace Lutheran Church. Bill had been a farmer, worked at Allen County Co-Op in Arcola, and retired from J.O. Mory as a Warehouse Manager after working there for 20 years. He was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church where he proudly had served as a Deacon and a Trustee. He also was one of the founders of Living Water Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake where he attended for a few years and served as a Deacon.

Survivors include his son, William N. Niedermeyer; daughters, Jules (Jeff) Thompson and Jennie (Barry) White; sister, Susanne Osborn; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Niedermeyer on June 27, 2017; daughter-in-law, Rebekah Niedermeyer; granddaughter, Christy Niedermeyer; sister, Christine Niedermeyer; and infant sister, Nancy Niedermeyer.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday, February 18, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church, 101 E North St. with visitation beginning at 11 am. Pastor Phil Rittner will be officiating and Bill will be laid to rest beside his wife at Nolt Cemetery. Arrangements with DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given toward his final expenses, in care of DeMoney-Grimes.
