of Avila Beach [CA] died May 27, 2016, in Morro Bay. He was born in 1927 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He served in the United States Navy and pursued a career in education. He taught at Dos Palos High School as well as Yosemite Junior High School. He was an English instructor at Fresno City College for 27 years.

He had many interests including scuba diving, cooking, growing orchids, and beekeeping. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling, most especially to France.

He was a believer in community involvement and became a member of the Avila Valley Advisory Council shortly after moving to Avila in 1990. He especially enjoyed being on the Front Street Enhancement Committee. He also served on the Friends of Hearst Castle Board for several years.

Ted is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette; children: Linda, Tim, Nancy, Holland, Paul and Ed, as well as his step-daughter, Shelley. He leaves behind ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Teddy.
