of Columbia City, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Heritage of Huntington where she had been a resident since January 2011.

She was born April 22, 1930 in the Linvill Hospital in Columbia City a daughter of Virgil E. and Ethel M. (Schinbeckler) Heinley. Her formative years were spent in Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City High School and attended college in Kentucky.

She was employed at Mullendore's Confectionary for many years, Chamberlin Products for over 10 years ad Viking Inc. for 14 years.

She was a counselor at Camp Whitley for six years, Girl Scout Leader for many years and a former member of Delta Theta Tau.

Surviving relatives include a sister, Barbara "Jean" Myers of Fort Wayne; three nieces, LeeAnn (Ron) Farnham, Roberta (Terry) Hollenbaugh, her caretaker, and Angela Joan (Denny) Gilson; two nephews, Charles Myers and Tom (Elizabeth) Myers; a step niece, Kathy (Gary) Cooper; several great nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Sandy (Ed) Gourley.

A step sister, Rosalind Kinney, preceded her in death.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Jefferson Chapel Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Camp Whitley.
