Surviving are his wife, Barbara LaFever-Adams of Fort Wayne; daughters, Gia Adams and Mary Adams, both of Columbia City; sisters, Patricia (Richard) Farmer of Sebring FL and Ruth (Rick) Peairs of Atascadero CA; brother, Robert (Nancy) Adams of Union KY; stepdaughters, Tamara Martin and Wendy Rotering of Indiana; son, Timothy J. LaFever of Indiana; grandchildren, Kelly Petty and Keona Conway, both of Tennessee, Jesica Stevens of Indiana, Troy Adams and Jeremy Bogner, Dakota and Jacob Heaton, all of Columbia City; step grandchildren, Travis and Tracy Martin, Jenna Jines and Corey Olinger, Timothy and Marie LaFever, all of Indiana; and seven great-grandchildren, Haley, Taylor, Chloe, Addy, Brentley, Nehemiah, and Jason.

A Memorial celebration of life for friends and family is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 with a Masonic Service following at 7 p.m. at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 207 N. Main St., Columbia City.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home. The burial will be in South Park Annex Cemetery.

March 7, 2015:

Donald E. Adams, 76, of Fort Wayne and Sebring, Florida, formerly of Columbia City, died in a single engine airplane crash at 11:49 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 in Sebring.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Barbara LaFever-Adams; two daughters, Mary Adams and Gia Adams, both of Columbia City; two sisters, Patricia (Richard) Farmer of Sebring, FL and Ruth (Rick) Peairs of Atascadero, CA; one brother Robert (Nancy) Adams of Union KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary Adams.

Arrangements are pending for mid April at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
