of rural Kimmell, died at 10:35 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne where he had been a patient for the past 10 days.

He was born December 10, 1952 at Whitley County Memorial Hospital, Columbia City, Indiana a son of the late Dale E. and Hazel J. (Chapman) Fisher. His formative years were spent in Columbia City where he graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1971.

For over 30 years, he was a welder for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad.

In 2005, he moved from the Pierceton area to the Kimmell area to be closer to the lakes for his favorite activity of fishing. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and often visited the local State Parks and sometimes, National Parks. He liked to hike at the Chain O’ Lakes State Park. He was an avid reader of history.

He is survived by his five siblings, Rose Anne (Charles) Barnum, Kendallville, Connie S. (Jim) Bedwell, Columbia City, Jean L. (Max) Lefever, Columbia City, Sally J. Maggart, South Whitley and Thomas D. Fisher, Columbia City.

A private family service and interment will take place at a later date at the Nolt Cemetery, Columbia City.
