Leon E. More, 78, of rural Columbia City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at 10:34 a.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018 at North Woods Village at Inverness Lakes, Fort Wayne where he had been a resident since August 2017.

He was born on May 8, 1940 in Fort Wayne, Indiana a son of Harold E. and Margie (Flaugh) More. His formative years were spent in Columbia City where he attended West Ward School and graduated from Columbia City High School in 1958. He continued his education at International Business College, Fort Wayne.

He served six years with the U.S. Army reserve.

On July 19, 1980 he married Margie Radabaugh Wright. They have always made their home in rural Columbia City.

For 36 years, he was a partner in More Farm Store, Columbia City. Although selling and servicing farm equipment was his business, he was passionate about farming and did so until his health curtailed it. He enjoyed tractor pulls and would often drive the pullback tractor at area events.

He is survived by his wife, Marg, children, Renae (Brad) Jordan, Westfield and Regina (Ryan) Wilson, Roanoke, Brian (Robin) More, Lynnette (Brian) Bridegam and Brady Wright, all of Columbia City; 10 grandchildren; his mother, Margie More, Columbia City; and a brother, Steve (Gloria) More, Columbia City.

Leon was preceded in death by his father and two infant children.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Oak Grove Church of God. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Preferred memorials are to Oak Grove Church of God playground or Heartland Hospice.
