Randolph (Randy) R. Miller, 57, of Columbia City, died at 12:54 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2010 at Parkview Main Hospital, Fort Wayne where he had been a patient since December 7, 2009.

He was born February 27, 1952 in Columbia City, Indiana a son of Charles A. and B. Virginia (Lee) Miller. His formative years were spent in Thorncreek Twp. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1970.

An accomplished baseball player, he received a scholarship to Indiana University, Bloomington. He continued to excel at baseball and was voted to the Collegiate All-American Baseball Team. Along with his older brother Bruce Miller who was also voted an All-American, they are the last brothers to receive the honor at Indiana University. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Indiana University.

In June of 1991, the Miller family opened Magic Hills Golf Course. Randy was the groundskeeper for the family business.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Virginia and two brothers, Bruce (Sue) Miller of Fort Wayne and Kent (Deb) Miller of Columbia City.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Eel River Cemetery, Carroll Road, Fort Wayne. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
