Notes:	Christina Diane Jeffers, of Columbia City, IN, died at 11:12 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Christina's family includes her husband, William "Will" Jeffers, Columbia City; daughter, Amanda Lynn Spaw, Columbia City; twin grandsons, Nolan and Nathaniel Spaw, Columbia City; parents, Jerry "Grub" and Terrilyn "Terri" Zumbrun, Columbia City; brother, Zach (Robin) Zumbrun, Columbia City: 2 sisters, Cari (Jason) Wells and Caylyn (Josh) Burns, both of Columbia City; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Jeanette Bills, Columbia City; paternal grandmothers, Margie A. Gordon and Ilene E. Zumbrun both of Columbia City; 6 nieces and 2 nephews. She is preceded in death by her birth father, Dan L. Gordon, grandfathers, Norm Gordon and Harold "Spike" Zumbrun and nephew, Colten Wells. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015, from 2 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family would like to direct memorial gifts to Mad Anthony's Hope House or Grandchildren's Educational Fund in care of Amanda Spaw. For additional information please log onto www.demoneygrimes.com Sassy, independent, and free-spirited, Christina Jeffers vibrantly colored the world around her each and every day. One never needed to wonder what she was thinking as she wasn't afraid to speak her mind, and she was passionate when it came to the things she believed in. A loving wife and devoted mother, Christina was abundantly blessed to witness her family tree blossom to include the twin grandsons who were the light of her life. She worked hard, but she played hard, too, and she was game to try nearly anything once. Although she was taken from her loved ones too soon, Christina made a significant impact in the lives of her friends and loved ones that they will forever cherish. The 1970s were a decade unlike any other in American history. President Richard Nixon was elected and forced to resign before the end of his term while the space exploration endeavors of NASA continued to gain momentum. It was the age of disco and bands like Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, and The Doors while television shows like The Brady Bunch and The Andy Griffith Show changed the way we viewed the American family. It was just as the heat of summer was settling in on Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1971 that a beautiful baby girl named Christina Diane was born on July 8th. Joined in her family by her brother, Zach, and her sisters, Cari and Caylyn, she was raised on a family farm by her parents, Jerry "Grub" and Terrilyn (Bills) Zumbrun. In many ways Christina was a typical young girl of her generation. She enjoyed living on a farm and was actively involved in raising livestock. Christina was also a member of Whitley County 4-H Clubs and showed cattle, sheep, and pigs. As a student she attended local schools and went on to graduate from Columbia City High School in 1991. Throughout her life Christina was one to work hard. While in high school she worked at Goss Grocery at Big Lake. She later worked for Radio Shack in Columbia City and Kendallville. She also worked at Centennial Wireless. In addition, Christina graduated from Harrison College with her BS in accounting in 2013. There was never anything that was of greater importance in Christina's life than her loved ones. She was thrilled to become a mother to her amazing daughter, Amanda, and in whatever her daughter was doing Christina was her greatest encourager and support system. One way in which she supported her daughter was in Amanda's participation in the FFA. Later in life Christina was thrilled to become a grandmother to twin grandsons, Nolan and Nathaniel. In addition to being a loving support system for her daughter and grandsons, Christina was also a caregiver for her grandmother. Life was forever changed for her when she met the man of her dreams on the internet. His name was William "Will" Jeffers, and they fell deeply in love over time. In March of 2006, he moved from Nashville, Tennessee, to marry Christina in her hometown of Columbia City. A woman of many interests, Christina was one to enjoy her leisure time. She loved spending time at the Whitley County 4-H grounds, and with an appreciation for animals she also frequently visited the Cincinnati Zoo where she particularly loved watching the manatees. At home Christina enjoyed watching The Walking Dead and NCIS. All who knew Christina Jeffers would agree that she was an extraordinary woman to know and love. A lifelong resident of Columbia City, she experienced so many of the best things that life has to offer, yet her strength during life's challenges was truly amazing. Christina could be stubborn at times, but she passionately loved with all her heart as well. She will be deeply missed while the memories she leaves behind will remain forever near and dear to the hearts of her friends and loved ones.
