At home, he enjoyed playing the guitar, working on cars, or just being outdoors. When the weather was good, he liked to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle or fish a local lake. He was a NASCAR and local Sprint Car race fan. He enjoyed his grandchildren and held a special place in his heart for his Alaskan Husky – Chevy, and his kitten, Chico.

Surviving is his girlfriend, Kimberly J. Sheets- Gibson; his mother, Amy Cramer of Fort Wayne; stepsisters, Tammy (Bob) Furnas of Columbia City, Shannon (Mark) Ebbinghouse of South Whitley; stepchildren, Tashalinn (Octavio) Bautista of Syracuse, Joshua (Kassandra) Gibson and Jason (Tiffany) Gibson both of Minnesota; grandkids, Whitney, Ethan, Cohen, Eli, Olivia, Samara, Aveil, Tobin and Zadok; and sisters, Sherry Sheets of Pierceton, Debra O’Dea of North Manchester, Shirley Cooper of South Whitley and Pamela (Tom) Newton of Columbia City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Sheets, and a brother, Billie Jo Sheets.
