He set a record in 1912 for the most points in one game, which was still standing in 1995 according to the Yontz entry in the 1995 "Whitley County and Its Families." Worked with his parents in Yontz & Son Grocer until it closed in 1964. 51-year member of Grace Lutheran Church & the Masonic Lodge. Three children: Gayle, Helen and Bob, all active in the high school band. Obituary in Columbia City Post August 17 & 20, 1981, Pg 6. Buried Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City, Indiana.
