Eileen M. Harrold, 87, a former resident of rural Columbia City and widow of Robert K. Harrold, died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at The Oaks in Columbia City following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Harrold was born in Revana, Mich., on Feb. 13, 1919, the daughter of Joy and Edith (Gilbert) Hiscutt, she moved to Whitley County as a young girl with her parents and graduated from Columbia City High School in 1937.

She married Robert K. Harrold in Louisville, Ky., on Jan. 21, 1938. A homemaker all her life, she had lived at her same residence in Smith Township for more than 60 years. Mr. Harrold preceded her in death June 4, 1996.

A member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church, she was a Sunday school teacher there for more than 45 years and also was a member of its United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Thorncreek Township Home Demonstration Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly (Roger) Bridge of Rockville and Brenda K. Boggess of rural Columbia City; a special niece, Sandy (Robert) Whitson of Pataskala, Ohio; two sisters, Janice Nahler of Syracuse and Joyce Bair of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Frank (Lena) Hiscutt of New Haven and Judd (Dorothy) Hiscutt of New Port Ritchie, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Hiscutt and Gilbert Hiscutt.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Churubusco United Methodist Church with Rev. Christine Newman-Jacobs officiating.

The family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco from 4-8 p.m. today and at the church one hour prior to service.

Interment will be in the Blue River Cemetery, Whitley County.
