Notes:	LOUVA SMITH NEEDHAM, 91, of Fort Wayne, died at 10:19 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Towne House Health Center. She was born November 6, 1920 in Larwill, Indiana a daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Schuh) Smith. She began her schooling in Larwill and later the family moved to Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City High School and completed Executive Secretary training at International Business College, Fort Wayne. After her graduation, she worked as a secretary at Rousseau Real Estate from 1939 to 1942. On November 19, 1942 she was united in marriage to Stanley O. Needham Jr. They have always made their home in Fort Wayne. Mr. Needham died July 28, 2008. A homemaker, she assisted her husband at the family business, Needham's Business Machines. A member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, she served as leader of the Seniors Group, was a member of the Humphrey Study Club and Joanna Fellowship. She sang in the church choir for over 50 years. She enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening and like to bake bread which she donated. In 1988 she was crowned Allen County Senior Queen. An avid reader, she was a member of the YWCA book club, enjoyed traveling and spending the summers at Oliver Lake with her children and grandchildren. Surviving relatives include three children, Stanley O. (Carol) Needham III of Columbia City, Stacey (Randy) Jacobs of Billings, Montana and Gregg S. (Judy) Needham of Fayetteville, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Meredith Jacobs, Amanda Needham, Brent Jacobs, Eric Jacobs, Ashley Hargrove, Jessie Needham, Guy Boyd and Matt Boyd; nine great grandchildren, Savannah Butler, Steele Jacobs, Luke Jacobs, Evan Hargrove, Annabelle Hargrove, Reed Hargrove, Johnathon Hargrove, Ella Boyd and Ben Boyd. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stuart Smith and Boyce Smith. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, 300 East Wayne Street with one hour visitation prior to service. The burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery. The visitation will also be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Towne House Chapel, 2209 St. Joe Center Road. Preferred memorials are to First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Charis House. Arrangements are by Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
