Notes:	BETTY T. MEYERS, 87, a former teacher at Marshall Memorial School, died at 11:50 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Miller's Merry Manor, Columbia City where she had been a resident since 1999. She was born January 19, 1920 in Whitley County, Indiana a daughter of Charles William and Nell May (Shoemaker) Thomson. Her formative years were spent in Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City High School and Indiana University in Bloomington. She taught third, fourth & fifth grades at Marshall Memorial School. Her memberships included Grace Lutheran Church, Tri Kappa and the Peabody Library Board. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Susan Meyers of Ontario; a son, John Meyers of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren, Jon Meyers, Joshua Meyers and Kira Meyers Guiden. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Beth and two brothers, William Thomson and George Thomson. Arrangements are pending at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
