Graduated from U of Illinois 1963 with a BA in Industrial Design. Drafted into the U.S. Army in November '63, assigned to the 503rd M.P. Battalion, Fort Brag, N.C., after basic training. (lots of fun)

Moved to San Francisco, Ca. after discharge and worked initially with AD Art, Inc., Emeryville, CA, and then J.L. Brandt and Associates, Palo Alto, CA, as an Industrial Designer serving Silicon Valley accounts including Fairchild Semi, Intel, and others.

In 1967 became head of I.D. for Plastronics Corp. and Data Technology Corp. San Jose & Palo Alto, Ca. Became involved with International Instruments (III industries) as a start up venture and designed the first automated silicon wafer processing equipment eventually building equipment packages for Texas Instruments, Fairchild Semi, Intel Corp. and the majority of the semiconductor industry.

Departed after sale of corporation to Eaton Corp and started California Step Side Mfg. Inc. with brother James in Santa Clara, Ca. Developed lines of truck bodies and accessories for the emerging compact truck market in the mid seventies as president of the firm.

Sold the firm in 1985 and temporarily retired. Firm worked in promotional activities with Ford Motor Company, B.F. Goodrich, Stull Industries, and others in advancing the economical small compact truck market thru advertising and promotional efforts with publications Hot Rod Magazine, Motor Trend, Car Craft, Truck'in Magazine, PV4 Off Road, and others. (A great promotional experience)

Final years of active employment were with Polymer Corporation, Boston, MA. acting as the West Coast Sales and Engineering Mgr. for this specialty casting and injection molding company working with product development groups primarily in the medical device arena.

Retired in 2003 to paint and sit on my bum.
